Nokia may not reveal any new phones at MWC

Nokia will not reveal any new devices at Mobile World Congress for the first time in nearly a decade, according to reports.

The manufacturer, which it is already known will not have a stand at the event, has made a ‘strategic’ decision not to unveil any new phones in Barcelona.

The reports suggested that Nokia will focus instead on announcements related to its services business, highlighting the company’s effort to transform from a pure mobile phone manufacturer  to a company offering customers paid applications and media on its devices.

However, websites and Phonesreview have reported that Nokia plans to show a new range of phones called the C Series at the event.

The company will hold offsite briefings during the event, Nokia said on its website.
