MWC: Sony Ericsson reveals X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro
Sony Ericsson has announced two new additions to its Xperia series - the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.
The 1.6 Android-based devices will be available in the first half of this year
Both devices made their debut on the eve of the Mobile World Congress yesterday. They feature a UX skin, in addition to Sony Ericsson's social networking Timescape technology.
Rikko Sakaguchi, Sony Ericcson's executive vice president and chief creation officer said: 'There has been an enormous buzz around Xperia X10 so it is really exciting to be already unveiling compact versions of this powerful proposition.'
He added that the X10 Mini and X10 Mini pro 'pushed the boundaries of what is possible with smaller devices.'
Both phones feature Google Android OS, a 2.55 inch touchscreen and include 3G with HSDPA. The devices also incorporate Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS, a 5 megapixel auto focus camera and a 3.5mm jack socket.
The X10 Mini Pro also contains a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Sony Ericsson has also developed an innovative 'four corner control', where each corner of the screen contains a customisable icon to launch popular applications.
