Area managers slashed in Vodafone retail overhaul

Vodafone has made least two area managers redundant and has changed area boundaries in a continued shake-up of its retail operations.

The news of the redundancies comes just several days after the company restructured its senior retail management team.

Retail director, Terry O'Brien and director of consumer sales, Tom Devine's roles were made redundant last week.

One area manager made redundant was based in the London area.

A Vodafone staffer said: 'I know some area managers have been redundant, I'm not sure who else has been affected.'

Vodafone confirmed that the redundancies had taken place.

A Vodafone spokeswoman said: 'We have made some changes to our consumer team and this is part of that. We have also made a few changes to our regional structure.'
