Nokia courts women with purple E72 smartphone
Nokia continues to target the women’s market, launching a purple version of its E72 smartphone.
The E72 Amethyst Purple was spotted in the Lebanon where it will soon be launched.
Nokia is aiming to grow share in the women’s market with the E72 smartphone. It recently launched the ‘E72 in Action’ campaign which sees Karen Brady, former MD of Birmingham City Football Club, and Savannah Miller, sister of Sienna Miller and founder of fashion label, Twenty8Twelve, promoting the E72 as the handset for busy working women juggling their careers, family life and a hectic social life.
Women have been identified as significantly heavier users of social networking sites than men and as such are becoming a target for manufacturers, retailers and operators to court.
The Nokia 'E72 in Action' campaign is also aimed at tempting women away from RIM’s Blackberry handsets, which have grown marketshare in this sector, particularly with the Blackberry Pearl.
