Sainsbury's appoints Currys' Matt Dixon as new mobile     chief

Sainsbury’s has appointed a new head of electricals, Matt Dixon, who will oversee mobile as part of his remit.

Dixon, who was appointed in his role as head of electricals and leisure at Sainsbury’s at the end of 2009, will oversee the supermarket’s electrical buying, including prepay handsets.

The retailer currently stocks a range of prepay handsets from T-Mobile and Vodafone.

Prior to joining Sainsbury’s, Dixon was commercial director of Currys’ large format stores at the DSGi group and has also worked for the DSGi group in Italy and Greece.

One of his first senior buying roles was at Ingram Micro, where he held the position of senior buyer.
