Mobile Industry Awards shortlists revealed
Senior retail, operator and manufacturer directors came together last week to debate the Mobile Industry Awards 2010 (see shortlists below) and choose the winners.
The manufacturer panel included Jon French (HTC), Steve Fraser (LG), James King (Motorola), John Nichols (Nokia) and casting his vote separately Nathan Vautier (Sony Ericsson). They assessed live presentations from the five shortlisted high street retailers.
The next day David Plumb (O2), Paul Foley (3) and John Doughty (Micro P Mobile) heard presentations from the five nominated dealers. This included a video conference presentation from Barclay Communications, who couldn't make it over from Northern Ireland thanks to the air flight ban.
The retailer panel of Mark Eastham (Carphone Warehouse), Graeme Ford (Phones 4u), David Taylor (Tesco Mobile) and Clive Bayley(Fonehouse) debated five categories.
Still to come is the judging for the two distributor categories by the operator panel, Shop Idol and the Mobile Power50 Person of the Year.
The winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Thursday 3 June at The Brewery in central London.
