Orange grows contract base by 13%
Orange grew its contract base by 13% to 7.124 million during Q1 this year, as the network saw its CEO's Agenda plan come into force.
The company's total mobile base now stands at 16.442 million - a 3.7% increase year on year - due to ongoing strong performance in both churn reduction and high end multimedia handsets.
Orange said: '20 months into CEO Tom Alexanders "Agenda" launch and Orange UK has stepped up a gear, delivering a strong Q1 2010 performance which saw a return to positive growth, including passing the 7 million contract customer milestone.'
Including fixed internet, total customer base now stands at 17.31 million
Oranges prepay base now stands at 9.318 million, with continued success in migrating prepay customers to monthly contracts. Contract customers now represent 43.3% of base, compared with 39.7% in Q1 2009.
Meanwhile, revenues were up 6% to 1.282bn Euros, with mobile revenue growth of 6.5%,due to successful value acquisition strategy with 3.4% non-voice multimedia revenue growth.
