Orange announces iPad data plans
Orange has announced tailored 3G data plans for iPad available from 10 May.
The operator will launch a pre-registration site at Orange.co.uk/iPad, where pay-as-you-consume, daily, weekly and monthly data plans will be available. Apple's device is not available through operator retail. Instead, consumers will need to buy the iPad from Apple, and the data plan from Orange.
The operator has developed a 'pay for what you use' price plan for iPad, charging for data access at a rate of 5p per MB of usage each month, costing no more than £40 per month.
The daily plan costs £2 per day, the weekly is £7.50 and the two monthly tariffs are at £15 for 3GB of data and £25 for 10GB.
All customers will be given a £10 credit upon activation of any Orange iPad data plan, for use at any time.
IPad users will also get access to Orange iPad apps, including Orange Wednesdays, Your Account, which allows users to track usage and purchase data bundles; and Orange Wi-Fi hotspot locator.
