Phones 4u launches fourth Currys store
A new 'Phones 4u at Currys' concession has opened in Stevenage today (27 May).
The opening in Stevenage marks the fourth concession of its kind to open within a year. Another concession will be opening in Dudley on 3 June.
The first 'Phones 4u at Currys' store opened in July last year and since then has been rolled out on a trial basis.
Phones 4u typically targets the 16-24 segment of the market, but through the Currys format it believes it is able to gain exposure to an entirely different segment.
A Phones 4u spokesperson said: 'Customer feedback on the store-in-store formats has so far been extremely positive and both Phones 4u and Currys are happy with the trial's performance so far. As a result, we decided to expand the current trial and the two new store-in-store openings will continue to offer customers mobile phone solutions including contract, pre-pay, SIM only and SIM free propositions.
'The trial with Currys is ongoing and currently offers us the opportunity to further broaden our customer base and increase our market share in locations we would not otherwise have exposure to. We will continue to work closely with Currys to review the trial's progress and success.'
The last concession to open was in Southampton just metres away from Best Buys second store which opens tomorrow (28 May).
