Android to be INQ’s main platform

Android will become INQ’s main platform, the manufacturer’s chief executive Frank Meehan told a mobile conference in America.

In September last year, INQ revealed plans to launch an Android handset, which Meehan confirmed will be out in the fourth quarter at the Mobilize 09 conference yesterday (10 June).

INQ’s current devices run off Qualcomm’s BREW OS, but in the future they will be Android powered.

In an interview with US blogger Om Malik, Meehan said:  ‘We are going all-Android and touch.’

INQ makes handsets designed for social networking, its most recent device being the INQ 3G Chat, which according to Meehan has sold 1.5 million units worldwide.
