Tesco Mobile gets iPhone 4

Tesco Mobile has confirmed it will join the major networks in selling the iPhone 4 from 24 June.

The MVNO, which runs on the O2 network, inked a deal to sell the iPhone 3GS just before Christmas 2009.

At the time, it was seen as a coup for the MVNO, which was able to distribute the device before its bigger rival Vodafone.

Last week, 3 became the last UK operator to get hold of the iPhone 4, signaling a complete u-turn in Apple’s distribution strategy.

Orange, Vodafone, O2 and T-Mobile had already announced that they would be selling the new device, with Virgin Mobile expected to pick up a deal soon.

It is thought Apple’s newest device is already close to selling out from pre-orders alone.
