Burnside gets RNIB deal
Mobile manufacturer Burnside Telecom has released an ‘Easy Answer Desktop Mobile Phone’, available from the The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
The handset has larger buttons than usually available on a mobile phone and can automatically answer calls in hands free mode.
The P230 Easy Answer phone looks similar to a traditional landline handset, but has been designed for use with a Sim card.
RNIB technology product manager, Simon McLean, said: ‘We chose to offer the Burnside phone because it offers the text message, portability and no line rental features of a mobile phone whilst providing the comforting familiarity and feel of a desktop, fixed line telephone.’
