LG Mobile appoints marketing chief

LG has appointed Dan Walsh as a senior consultant, taking on the responsibility for marketing at the company's mobile arm.

Walsh was previously a marketing consultant at Commercial Advantage Consulting. Prior to that, he also held positions at T-Mobile and Orange.

LG said: 'Daniel Walsh has been appointed as a senior consultant with LG Electronics. Daniel has extensive marketing and mobile experience, working for the likes of T-Mobile, Orange, Cable & Wireless and RIM in the past. '

'His valuable industry experience will be put towards various mobile marketing efforts including the launch of a new smartphone line-up. '

LG Mobile head of marketing, Jeremy Newing, left LG in September amid a series of high-profile departures, including sales and marketing director John Barton and chief operating officer Ward Crawford.

Yesterday, Mobile revealed that LG, head of retail and distribution, Steve Fraser, had left the business.

Fraser, who had been with the company for almost four years, headed up the manufacturer’s retail and distribution strategy.
