Vodafone faces fraud allegations
Vodafone has launched an investigation into allegations of fraud at its property division, according to reports.
The operator, whose chairman Sir John Bond is under pressure from investors ahead of Tuesday’sannual meeting, is investigating claims that managers received unauthorised payments in exchange for agreeing business deals, according to the Sunday Times.
Vodafone UK’s property division manages the company’s main base in Newbury, Berkshire, as well as call centres and its 350 high street stores.
Up to a quarter of the 60 members of its property team are thought to be involved. However, no one is thought to have been suspended.
Vodafone said: ‘We will not comment on investigations.’
