Econet Wireless becomes Everything Everywhere MVNO
Everything Everywhere has signed African MVNO Econet Wireless in its first MVNO deal since the Orange and T-Mobile merger officially took place on 1 July.
Econet Wireless, which will be will be the first overseas network to launch in the UK as a MVNO, is part of an African telecoms group.
Initially it will use the Orange network but in due course it will also have access to T-Mobile’s network– along with all the other MVNOs signed to Everything Everywhere.
Econet Wireless will target the African community with pay-as-you-go propositions. The company estimates there are 2.8 million Africans in the UK.
Everything Everywhere VP of wholesale Marc Overton (pictured) said: ‘As a multi-brand company supporting two of Britain's best loved brands and 19 MVNOs and with the prospect of bigger and better coverage, we are on track to become the wholesale partner of choice for MVNOs.’
Econet Wireless managing director Marco Signorini said: ‘We are excited to be partnering with Everything Everywhere to launch our first UK mobile proposition which fills a real gap in the ethnic African market.
