Acer has cut an exclusive
deal with on-line retailer eXpansys to sell its Acer Stream Android smartphone.
This is Acer’s first
venture into the high-end smartphone market. The new handset, which will retail for
£399, is 11.2mm wide. It runs on Android 2.1 and boasts a 3.7inch AMOLED WVGA
screen capable of displaying 1.67 million colours with a contrast ratio of
Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm
Snapdragon processor, it also packs in 512MB of RAM, 2GB or memory as well as
HSDPA 7.2, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options. The device’s camera comes
with a 720p HD Video shooting skills, as well as a five megapixel still sensor,
which can be output over mini-HDMI.
