Phones 4u trials high street Currys
Phones 4u is opening a Currys high street store concession as the pair look to widen their deal to other formats, Phones 4u retail development director John Welsh told Mobile this week.

Last week, Phones 4u and Currys owner DSGi announced plans to add 50 Phones 4u concessions by the end of 2010 as their partnership became official. Phones 4u has already opened a store in PC World.

Welsh said: ‘The first high street store will open in Newcastle, where the concept will be trialled before it goes
into other stores.’

Phones 4u in Currys Megastores will be opening in Swansea and Ponty Pridd this week, Welsh (pictured) said, followed by Sheffield, Drake House and Bath shortly after.

The partnership will see the arrival of Phones 4u branded areas at all Currys Megastores, a number of DSGi’s combined 2-in-1 stores across the UK, and PC World Superstores.
