Virgin Media director of indirect distribution, Ian Driver, is leaving the company, according to an internal email sent by the company’s executive director of sales, Peter Taddeo.
Driver, who’s leaving date is yet to be announced, was promoted to his current role in September last year. He is credited with growing and improving the quality of Virgin’s prepay, as well as widening distribution of its media products.
Driver has worked at Virgin since March 2008, where he was first appointed as head of sales and then had a period of acting as director of indirect distribution.
Before joining the company, Driver was general manager of channel execution at O2.
Taddeo’s email said: ‘I write to announce that Ian Driver – director of indirect distribution, has decided to look for a new challenge outside of VM and will be leaving Virgin Media at a date to be agreed in the near future.
‘I have been aware of Ian’s desire to move to pastures new for a while and have been working on a transition plan since April. I intend to replace this role with a suitable candidate as soon as possible and we are currently actively progressing a recruitment programme.
‘I would like to thank Ian for his contribution and support in taking on the role of director – indirect distribution. During his stewardship of the role the team has grown and improved the quality of prepay and actively widened distribution of our media products.
‘I would like to wish Ian all the very best for his future plans. Please cascade to your teams as appropriate.’
