Carphone’s David Swinbourne wins second Face-off
Congratulations to Carphone Warehouse’s David Swinbourne, who is the winner of Face-off two in our Store Manager of the Year competition.
He may have been down slightly on public votes, but David triumphed in the battle of the comments.
Both David and 3’s Harshad Patel had attracted comments from customers, but David’s revealed more about his qualities as a manager – which really clinched two of the judges’ votes.
David had messages of support from staff, as well as old bosses – and even his wife stepped in to say she knows first-hand how hard he works!
So remember upcoming Face-off contenders – the judges are looking at the quality of comments, such as things you have done to deserve the accolade, as well as your past achievements.
The more comments you can inspire that provide an insight into your managerial qualities and show why you are worthy of being Store Manager of the Year, the better.
So, commiserations to Harshad, but well done to David – and, of course, thanks to David’s triumph, his Gateshead store also wins a £350 Life’s Good meal out for all the team, courtesy of LG Mobile.
The third round of Face-offs begins today (Friday 20 August). The two featured managers are Phones 4u’s David Moore and T-Mobile’s Graham Price.
