20% sales surge for A1 Comms in July
Online retailers A1 Comms and BuyMobilePhones.net saw a 20% increase in sales in July and are expecting similar results from August.
The online retailer is now offering all the networks to its customers after securing a deal to connect Vodafone through Fonehouse in July.
A1 Comms MD Paul Sisson (pictured) said: ‘We are looking forward to a busy Christmas due to the increase in sales we have seen over the last few months. Having Vodafone and 3 has helped.’
A1 Comms has sold 3 for a number of years, but this summer refreshed the handset range for the network.
Meanwhile, the consumer retailer has also started using Data Select for logistics. The deal between the distributor and the retailer was agreed in January but only came into force recently.
The agreement means that Data Select will now dispatch all deliveries of handsets and free gifts for A1 Comms.
Sisson said: ‘We are really concentrating on customer service at the moment and the deal with Data Select makes it easier for us to focus on that.’
A1 Comms is also in the process of acquiring a new site for staff as it looks to recruit across divisions including inbound sales, customer service, retention and technical support.
A1 Comms has been trading since 1997 and moved from having a physical presence on the high street to launching BuyMobilePhones.net in 2003.
This year the retailer is forecasting a turnover of £40m and is aiming for £100m turnover in the next few years.
