Charles Dunstone sells £35m Carphone shares

Carphone chairman Charles Dunstone has raised £35m by selling 10% of his share in Carphone Warehouse.

The move marks the greatest reduction in his stake in the company he founded since it listed in 2000.

Carphone said Dunstone had sold the stake for ‘a combination of personal requirements’.

The deal, which leaves him with a 29.1% stake in Carphone, represents 3% of the company.

Dunstone was named chairman of Carphone Warehouse in March after demerging TalkTalk

Shares in Carphone Warehouse fell by 2p to 240.5p in response to the sale. The shares have risen by 22% in the last three months.
