one million customers have opted into O2 More - O2 Media's targeted mobile advertising service less than one year since its launch.
The opt-in service allows
brands to target campaigns at specific consumers, providing them with exclusive
offers and tailor made information.
O2 More is central to O2
Media’s brief, which is to provide personalised media opportunities for brands
using O2 customer data.
Since O2 Media’s launch
last year it has delivered over 1,000 campaigns for major companies including
Adidas, Cadbury, Blockbuster, Interflora and Mothercare.
Shaun Gregory, MD of O2
Media, said: ‘The fact that over one million of our customers have chosen O2
More speaks volumes about how permission based marketing can address challenges
‘We continue to see more
and more brands come on board and develop a great customer experience that is
set to include richer formats. It’s about taking mobile advertising to a new
level and delivering the ‘wow factor’ for consumers.’
Orange followed O2’s lead this year,
launching a similar service in January this year called Orange Shots, which
uses the Blyk messaging platform to target subscribers.
British universities recently
used the Orange Shots service to advertise vacancies on courses during this year’s clearing process.
