Crispin Lowery - general manager for retail, O2
Big changes afoot at O2, which is looking to revamp its retail portfolio with a £19m investment, designed to bring its shops in line with its online offer. An ambitious plan but one that Lowery is best placed to oversee, given his experience leading Apple’s retail proposition in the United Kingdom.
Lowery has also led the charge in diversifying its retail estate, with a great focus on franchises. By the time the project is completed, almost half of O2’s stores will be run by third parties. Rivals will watch with interest if this move pays off, as it could remove some troublesome fixed costs from operators keen to improve their bottom lines.
