Ben Dowd - business director, O2
Another constant in the Power 50, Dowd continues to push O2 into fully disrupting the business and enterprise market. It is pushing heavily into government contracts, with a new business wing aiming to have deals in place with half of the public sector by 2016. Dowd moved quickly to rescue the managed services business of IT company 2e2 when it collapsed earlier this year, which he has integrated into the operator to offer partners a broader unified offer.
Dowd, described as a ‘no nonsense and innovative’ executive by partners, has also been picking and choosing from O2’s consumer business. It has adapted its Priority Moments offer for local businesses to give customers rewards and discounts. And if they sign up to O2 while they are at it, well, that’s a bonus!
